Community Nursing & Rehabilitation Center celebrated another one of its residents, Emma “Emmy” Taylor, when she turned 100 years old on Thursday, March 9, 2017.

The excitement started in the morning when residents observed Emmy’s walking around the facility wearing her royal blue sash emblazoned with “It’s my 100th birthday.”  She also sported a 100th birthday button and her walker was decorated with some 100th printed balloons, noted activity director Sherri Walton-Peterson in the news release.

In the afternoon, several of Emmy’s family members arrived at the facility, some traveling from out of state to help celebrate with her peers and staff with a surprise birthday party.  Naperville Mayor Steve Chirico even stopped by to wish Emma personally a happy birthday.

“Everyone enjoyed eating cake and ice cream and singing several rounds of ‘Happy Birthday’ to her,” said Walton-Peterson.

Community Nursing & Rehabilitation Center is located at 1136 North Mill Street, about 1.5 miles from downtown Naperville.
