Above / Naperville Police investigate call of “Shots fired” and incident is determined to be unfounded.
NAPERVILLE, Ill. — At approximately 2:55PM, this afternoon (December 30, 2016), the Naperville Police Department responded to the 1200 block of Johnson Dr. for a report of “shots fired.”
Upon arrival officers met with the caller and learned that a projectile had broken a rear window to a single family residence on Johnson Dr.
During the course of the investigation, it was learned that a male teenager accidentally shot an arrow from a crossbow, inside the home. The arrow from the crossbow never left the residence and no one was injured.
The adult homeowner, unaware of the accidental discharge of the crossbow, called the Naperville Police Department to investigate the incident.
During the course of the initial police response, portions of Johnson Drive and Stanton Court were closed to vehicle traffic. No criminal charges will be forthcoming as a result of this incident.
