Above / Before there’s a blizzard, seniors unable to shovel snow and without previously arranged snow plowing contracts are encouraged to be on the list organized by the Naperville Jaycees and Roosters.
Let is snow! The Naperville Jaycees and the Jaycees Roosters are ready and able to clear driveways and sidewalks for seniors in need.
The Naperville Jaycees again will provide assistance to seniors and others unable to shovel their snow.
To date, the service organization has never had to turn anyone away due to lack of volunteers, but folks who request help with snow removal must qualify.
“We are happy to facilitate an arrangement if we are able to do so,” said volunteer coordinator Jaycee Mark Coleman. “But this is no way intended to supplement a current arrangement with a snow removal service in place. Â We also make sure that the residents requesting help qualify for our snow removal assistance and the Naperville Jaycees have had a strong success rate in handling most requests.”
Above / The Naperville Jaycees are so well known for their snow shoveling assistance that they’ve been featured as the synchronized Snow Shovel Brigade in local parades.
In addition to a large pool of volunteers from their membership, the Jaycees also recruit teens from the various Naperville high schools that are required to do community service projects.
The Jaycees request that the community helps spread the word so individuals or families that need the help are signed up in advance of any major snow storm in Naperville.
To make arrangements in advance for snow shoveling after a snow event in Naperville, contact Mark Coleman at (630) 461-1612 or Coleman.markj@gmail.com and he’ll put qualifying names and addresses on the map.
Known for community events such Last Fling, Distinguished Service Awards, Easter Egg Hunt and Lobster Day, the Naperville Jaycees rely on donations to help fund community service projects such as snow shoveling. Donations in appreciation for snow shoveling are welcome.
