Above / During a recent stop at Edward Hospital in Naperville, race car driver Danica Patrick, spokesperson for Edward-Elmhurst Health’s Healthy Driven initiative, visited with handlers and dogs of the hospital’s Animal-Assisted Therapy program.
Race car driver Danica Patrick was the featured guest at “Healthy Driven” events at Elmhurst Hospital and Edward Hospital on Wed., Oct. 28.
Patrick is the spokesperson for Edward-Elmhurst Health’s Healthy Driven initiative, which is designed to help people move their health forward.
At Elmhurst Hospital, Patrick took part in a panel discussion, Healthy Driven Life: Practical Advice for Busy People, in which she offered tips to community leaders and Edward-Elmhurst Health system employees.
The panel also included Joe Perrino, CEO, Home Run Inn Pizza; Pam Davis, System CEO, Edward-Elmhurst Health and Mary Lou Mastro, President/CEO, Elmhurst Hospital.

Patrick also visited with patients at the Nancy W. Knowles Cancer Center and took part in a cooking demonstration with Jim Roth, executive chef of Elmhurst Hospital’s Wildflower Cafe.
At Edward Hospital in Naperville, Patrick met and worked out with patients in Edward Heart Hospital’s Cardiac Rehabilitation unit. Later she visited with handlers and dogs of Edward’s Animal-Assisted Therapy program.
