Naperville Jaycees’ Last Fling – 5PM

Continues 10AM to 11PM Sept. 5 and 6, and 10AM to 6PM Sept. 7. Fling Mile at 8:45AM Sept. 7, followed by Rooster 5K at 9AM and Labor Day Parade at 10AM. Carnival, entertainment, Family Fun Land and numerous special events including bed races, contests, Skaters Picnic, rib cook-off, Ashley Whippet World Championship.

Last Fling Touch-a-Truck – 10AM | Free
Downtown Naperville – Webster Street & Aurora Avenue Naperville, IL 60540
Get up close to a Back Hoe/Excavator, 5-wheel Dump Truck, Emergency Response Hummer, 1983 Pierce Pumper Fire Truck and , Park Police All Terrain Vehicle. Kids can take a seat, honk a horn and take part in activities overlooking the site of the Water Street construction project in Downtown Naperville during Last Fling.

Casey’s Fires Up the Grill  – 11AM-2PM | Specials start at $5
Casey’s Foods in Naperville Plaza  – Washington Street at Gartner Road.
Today’s grilling will be repeated every Saturday and Sunday with lunchtime favorites until the fall season ends. Picnic tables provide seating under cover.  Casey’s also has a variety of specialty cakes for special occasions in its bakery. Fox Valley Irish Fest – 3PM | $10

No need to fly across the pond to get in on all that Irish fun. With beer and whiskey tastings, vendors offering phenomenal Irish fare, crafts and games for the kids and, of course, the hottest Irish bands around, the 2nd Annual Fox Valley Irish Fest is the biggest Irish party the Chicago suburbs have ever seen. Theres a little Irish in all of us come celebrate the food, drink, music and spirit of the Emerald Isle at the Park. Theres something for the whole family at Irish Fest. Theres a huge childrens play area filled with crafts and games, Irish beer will be flowing, and tons of cool vendors will be offering authentic Irish food, gifts and more. Then, when the sun starts to go down over the green hills (ok, hill) of the Park, three of the hottest Irish bands light up the night. Schedule of Bands: Brendan Loughrey 5PM, The Ploughboys 7:30PM The Mahones 8:30PM.

The Naperville Jaycees Family Fun Land area, which is part of the Last Fling, provides a family-friendly atmosphere with bouncy rides, pony rides, an entertainment stage, arts and crafts area, food and beverages, family-focused business expo booths and much more. Hours are 10AM to 6PM Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 5-6 and 11AM to 5PM Monday, Sept. 7. Admission is free. Visit www.lastfling.org for more information.

Monday

Naperville Labor Day Parade – 10AM | Free
Downtown Naperville
Starts at Naperville North High School, proceeds south on Main Street, west on Porter and ends near Naperville Central High School.
