Last chance to request different size cart is Wednesday, October 8
The City of Naperville’s new recycling cart program kicked off with the delivery of 40,250 carts to households in September. Cascade Engineering, the recycling cart manufacturer, will complete delivery of the new carts to all residences this Saturday, October 4.
Households interested in exchanging the delivered cart for an alternative size must contact the City’s Department of Public Works by Wednesday, October 8. Residents can submit exchange requests by calling (630) 420-6095.
Residents requesting an exchange prior to October 8, can expect the exchange to occur on or before Wednesday, October 15. Residents should keep the recycling cart near the curb in order to facilitate the exchange process. Residents requesting an alternative cart after the October 8 deadline will be able to conduct the exchange starting October 16 at the Department of Public Works located at 180 Fort Hill Drive during normal business hours.
Recycling rules regarding old containers / Recycle used bins at Recycling Drop-Off Center
As of November 1, Republic Services, the City’s recycling hauler will no longer collect recycling from the rectangular 22-gallon containers. Residents can choose to keep their old bins or they may recycle their bins at the Recycling Drop-Off Center at 180 Fort Hill Drive anytime from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays beginning August 1. Residents may also bring their bins at any time and leave them outside of the front entrance of the Department of Public Works located at 180 Fort Hill Drive. If residents do not want to keep or recycle the bins, they may put a note on the container stating “garbage” and put it out for pick up on their respective garbage collection day.
