Real News – The intersection of Commercial Boulevard and Residential Lane

-

decruiff_webI love to cut my lawn. OK, love is a bit strong.

I like to cut my lawn. Well, that, too, might be a bit strong.

The fact might be that I am cheap. Since I don’t have a gym membership, cutting my lawn is, in part, how I get some exercise. We can get back to the practical side of that in a moment.

My house is located along Washington Street near Colonial and Casey’s Foods. My family and I call home the tranquil side of commercial and residential, with neighbors like a bank and church, at the edge of the West Highlands.

This location is where commercial meets residential, walking distance to lots of places, so one would think I have a lot of opportunities to get exercise.

And I do. Still, some of that exercise is in fact cutting my grass with all the people coming and going from the commercial properties near our house.

Plus, more often than not, while I am cutting my grass, someone honks his horn. It happens nearly each time, and definitely scares the heck out of me. So you could say along with my brisk walk, my heart rate rises. But after I collect myself and continue pushing, I cannot help but smile, knowing all the commercial real estate located near me helps keep my taxes lower versus maybe other towns and cities.

All Naperville residents benefit from the significant commercial real estate located within city limits. I just like that I can walk to nearly everything I want or need.
