The Naperville City Council will meet in Council Chambers Tuesday, April 15, beginning at 7PM. Council Chambers is located in the Naperville Municipal Center at 400 S. Eagle St. Any resident wishing to speak up to three minutes in the public forum must sign up ten minutes prior to the start of the meeting.
Major agenda items include the FY15 Annual Operating Budget as well as to award the bid for recycling carts, to remove the position of Mayor from participation in the pension system IMRF (Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund) and to consider whether City of Naperville elected officials should be eligible for City healthcare benefits going forward after the City Council election in 2015.
Past City Council Meetings and Agendas are available around the clock at http://naperville.granicus.com/ViewPublisher.php?view_id=2. This online service available for all residents is much appreciated in the name of transparency. Within hours of twice-monthly City Council Meetings and other workshops, entire videos without edits are posted in an archive for review as a way to watch local government at work.
Find the April 15 City Council Agenda online here. Tuesday’s agenda is pretty comprehensive. Depending on public comments, it could last long.
This online streaming video (April 1, 2014) of past proceedings is a chance to hear the City Council members in their own voices with their own words as they add to the discussion on current topics. “New Business” always presents interesting commentary by City Council at the end of the meeting. City Council meetings dating back to 2008 are in the streaming archive.

Going forward…
Did you know that for the 2015 Mayor/City Council Election all nine seats will be voted at-large and with term limits?
Did you know that during the fall of 2014, hopefuls will begin passing petitions throughout the city in order to garnish enough signatures from registered voters to run on the 2015 Consolidated Election ballot to serve one of eight seats on City Council as well as the Mayor? In other words, all members of City Council and the Mayor will begin again with a chance to serve up to three terms as part-time elected officials for the City of Naperville Council/Manager form of government.
