Naperville Junior Woman’s Club (NJWC) is a non-profit organization that consists of more than 80 members providing hands on service and philanthropic donations to those in need. The club gives all members the opportunity to make a difference by fulfilling projects and contributing in her own way to help children, seniors and families in need. Naperville Junior Woman’s Club works hand in hand with Naperville’s Safety Town to sustain summer education programs for our children to learn about safety inside the home and in the community and how to make good choices.

Molly Capo joined Naperville Junior Woman’s Club in 2011 after one of her close friends had been dedicating her time and effort to fundraise and support a few local charities. Molly immediately showed ownership of making an impact when she volunteered to be the Project Lead for the selected charity that the club would support for two years — Humanitarian Service Project (HSP).

She grabbed the reins and met with the charity’s Executive Director Kristin Maxwell to begin developing a relationship of trust, reliability and knowledge between the two organizations. Molly helped educate the club’s membership on the history behind Humanitarian Service Project, its founders Karole and Floyd Kettering, their areas of need and how the membership could devote its time, efforts and donation to the charity. She has dedicated many weeks of her personal time and effort not only to volunteer but grow the relationship between the two organizations by defining clear goals for the membership.

Molly continues to be the main liaison with HSP and has also accepted the role as lead of the NJWC’s Philanthropic Committee in 2014. She has helped drive more commitment to the charity work for the whole club and fill voids for volunteer work at HSP when needed.

In addition to her membership to Naperville Junior Woman’s Club, and volunteer work at the Humanitarian Service Project, Molly volunteers twice a month at the West Suburban Humane Society cleaning and showing animals to prospective adopters. For the past two years, Molly also has participated in Rebuilding Together in Chicago.

PN Ombudsman
An ombudsman is Scandinavian in origin dating back to Viking times; and refers to a community representative; usually acting independently on behalf of an organization, body of elected officials, or civic group. Thanks Scandinavia for inventing ombudsman.
