The Art of Connecting – Summer on stage!

-

Summer is here! Well, I hope so at least.

haselhorstThis season is my favorite time of year. While the weather is nice, the best part about summer to me is getting to enjoy all of the concerts, campouts, festivals, and performances that Naperville has to offer. In June alone, there are dozens of diverse events going on around the city.

Starting at 7PM Sun., June 9, the 11th series of Concerts in Your Park will begin at River Run Park. This concert series runs all the way through August at multiple Naperville parks, performing different genres of music for all ages.

From 5-10PM on Fri., June 21 and Sat., June 22, Naper Settlement will put on the Naper Nights Community Concert Series. Tickets are $10-15. Come and enjoy music from the Beatles to Tom Petty to country and more. This is a great event to enjoy with the family. Bring blankets and chairs and relax on a summer evening.

If you are looking for a way to have fun and raise money for a great cause, the Naperville band One More Time will perform a free concert to benefit St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital at 7:30PM on Sat., June 8. The concert will be held at Frankie’s Blue Room in downtown Naperville.

As for productions around town, the Bright Side Theatre company will stage six performances of the musical RENT starting at 8PM Fri., June 14.

This classic but modern rock opera is one that every person should see at least once in their lifetime. Performances will be held at Meiley-Swallow Hall at North Central College.

These performances just make up part of summer in Naperville. There are occasions for families, theater goers, concert lovers, and ways to benefit the community as well.

As a lover of music and theatre, I could not be more excited. I hope to see you all around town!
