So you thought Oswald’s Pharmacy was the city’s oldest business for filling prescriptions? Certainly the large vintage photos gracing the walls and the mini-museum encased in the back right corner cabinet provide a look into the store’s history dating back to 1875, proving you are correct. Yet, in today’s world, the award-winning family-owned business provides much more than good health remedies.
“We have many gift ideas for Father’s Day,” said Nicki Anderson, marketing manager for Oswald’s.
According to Anderson, “Cool ‘sportulas” (Spatula’s with a sports theme) and a number of other sports-related and novelty gift ideas will serve men well and for the fun of it. In fact, children are sure to find new and different gift items for the dad who already has everything!
Since Oswald’s moved from its location in downtown Naperville to Naperville Plaza in 2004, nearly half of the store has been dedicated to items other than pharmaceuticals and medical equipment rentals. The shelves are chock full of seasonal gifts, greeting cards, books, toys, party supplies, Cock Robin t-shirts and “Naperville” t-shirts, Naperville novelties and candy.
Oswald’s also is a remote full-service U.S. Post Office.
In fact, busy customers will find one-stop shopping for gifts to fit any occasion that need delivery anywhere in the world.
Whether Father’s Day, graduations, birthdays, bridal showers, weddings—you name it!— a special gift awaits with a greeting card, a box and wrapping paper to send it on its way without even taking the gift home, if necessary.
Oswald’s Pharmacy is located in Naperville Plaza near Casey’s Foods, First Community Bank Naperville, Ana Banana Kids and many independently-owned local businesses with plenty of free parking.
Naperville Plaza is situated on the southwest corner of Washington St. at Gartner Ave. For a view of all the services at Oswald’s, visit www.oswaldspharmacy.com.
