Previously, residents could only dispose of their electronics on Tuesdays and Thursdays when the Drop-Off Center was open. However, with the relocation of the center to the northwest corner of the Public Works Service Center last month, electronics are now being accepted on Saturdays.
“Many people may have received new electronics as gifts during the holiday season and are now looking to dispose of their old electronic devices safely,” Department of Public Works Strategic Services Manager Beth Lang said. “The Recycling Drop-Off Center is a convenient option for residents, as state law prohibits the deposit of electronics in landfills. We’re pleased that the reconfiguration of the center has allowed us to expand the drop-off time for electronics and make this service even more beneficial.”
Accepted items include personal computers, laptops, all-in-ones, monitors, televisions, large peripherals, copiers, computer cables, keyboards, mice, fax machines, VCRs, DVD players, CDs, DVDs, VHS tapes, video game consoles and more. The Recycling Drop-Off Center is located at 180 Fort Hill Dr. and is open from 8AM to 4PM on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
