When it’s a beautiful fall day, take a walk along the Naperville’s Riverwalk and stroll upon one of the best BBQ joints around.
This month I choose Q-BBQ for my restaurant review. Q-BBQ is an authentic BBQ restaurant located at 103 S. Main Street. They are open from 11AM until 9PM every day.
The atmosphere is rustic and something you would find in Texas. Part of their inspiration came from the meat markets of Texas. They are famous for giving their own brand of culinary flare and distinct flavor to America’s original comfort food.
The service was excellent and very helpful, as I had many questions since this was my first rodeo. They were patient and answered each of them with a smile!
I ordered the two meat plate. My first selection for the meat was the pulled pork, my second selection was the Memphis wings. The plates come with two sides and an order of hush puppies. For my sides I chose the fresh cut French fries and the mac-Q-roni.
The BBQ sauces are very amazing on the pulled pork. I would call it sweet and sizzling good! The pork melted in my mouth, very tender and full of Smokey flavor. The Memphis wings were finger-licking good and definitely not your typical wing. They were larger than most wing restaurants.
The sides were equally as noteworthy. The homemade fresh fries were crispy and golden brown. The mac-Q-roni is a new spin on the traditional mac n’cheese, really rich and creamy with a Texas spin on it – they crushed Cheez-its on top of it. What a great twist!
So if you find yourself in the mood to rustle up an authentic BBQ sandwich or plate, I highly recommend you you take a stroll downtown Naperville to Q -BBQ joint and tell them Jack the foodie sent ya….. and you all come back now, ya hear! Happy trails until next month.
