I would like to thank the NAHC membership for their vote of confidence at our May annual meeting. My nearly unanimous re-election (yes, I was the sole “no” vote) will allow me two more years as Confederation president before term limits (what a wonderful concept) opens the field to new leadership.
While we will not be holding general meetings during the summer, the Board and I will be busy planning the meetings and programs that begin in the Fall, including recruiting sponsors for the all important morning coffee. We will also continue monitoring and tracking the various users of our tax dollars (who use them to provide many meaningful and necessary services) including the City of Naperville, Naperville Public Library, COD, Naperville Park District, school districts and more.
With our mission to foster dialogues between member associations, homeowners, and government officials, most of this important liaison work is accomplished by our Associate Directors. We are always looking for a few more good people willing to follow their passions and help keep the Confederation and the community informed. Anyone interested in serving as an Associate Director or as a liaison should let me know.
We are also looking for suggestions on meeting topics for upcoming general meetings. We try for a mix of topics ranging from politics and our tax dollars at work, to community services, to the specifics of managing a Homeowners Association in an increasingly litigious world.
If there is something your neighborhood would like us to focus on in a future meeting, please contact us so that we can assign a board member to develop an appropriate agenda that will include interesting and credible presenters.
