This month we celebrated Brad’s birthday and went to Kiku Japanese Steak House and Sushi Lounge. Kiku is located at 2764 Aurora Avenue. Hours are 11:20AM to 2PM Monday – Friday lunch and 4:30 to 10PM Dinner; Noon to 3PM Saturdays lunch and 4:30-10:30PM dinner; and Sundays lunch 12:30 – 3PM Sundays lunch and 4 – 9PM dinner.
We choose to eat hibachi style, which is where the chefs are able to blend cooking and entertaining right at your table.
For starters, you can begin your mouth watering journey with Miso soup, which is chicken broth with very few scallions and mushrooms.
Our chef began our entertainment with a trick in which he uses his spatula to flip an egg and not break it.
Well, it looked easy enough … I, of course, had to try and failed and the egg broke. Luckily that was the beginning of the chicken fried rice. The rice was cooked to perfection and was very tasty.
The next trick they did was the steaming onion cho-cho …. You’re never too old to enjoy the cho cho!
For my main course I went with the Filet Mignon/Chicken. The filet was cooked perfectly—very tender and full of flavor. The chicken also was seasoned perfectly and the dipping sauces were mouthwatering. The dining experience was one that my entire family truly enjoyed.
