Even facing COVID-19, March is for “wearing the green.” After all, the month’s middle is St. Patrick’s Day when everyone can be Irish, drink green beer, be full of Blarney and look for leprechauns. Century Walk wishes you a happy day and suggests that you make a stop at the “Naperville Loves a Parade” mural and check out Carmelite Sister Jeanne Healy, former Administrator at St. Patrick’s Residence, as she evokes Irish humor imitating the “Flying Nun!”
About Century Walk
The Century Walk Corporation, founded in 1996, is a nonprofit organization dedicated to bringing public art to Naperville, to add beauty to the town, build community and bridge generations by paying tribute to over 200 years of Naperville history through a diverse collection of murals, mosaics, sculptures and more.

Editor’s Note / For 2021, the West Suburban Irish St. Patrick’s Parade, one of many Naperville parades we love, was canceled with a focus on caution. (The WSI Irish Fest is on the schedule for Frontier Park the first weekend in August 2021.) Yet, the Rotary Sunrise St. Paddy’s Day 5K is a 31-day virtual event to benefit KidsMatter, 360 Youth Services and Teen Parent Connection. Many Downtown Naperville restaurants are open for limited in-person and take-out dining, including Catch 35 for its Fish on Friday and Quigley’s Irish Pub where fish and chips go well with a beverage. Celebrate safely. And Century Walk locations dot the landscape throughout town every day. Sláinte!
