Above / Grief support groups begin again this week at Edward Hospital, located just south of downtown Naperville along S. Washington.
Following a break due to the coronavirus pandemic, Edward Hospital’s grief support program, “Journey to Wholeness,” will resume in early August for any community member 18 and older who is grieving the loss of a loved one.
The daytime group will meet 10-11:30AM, on Wednesdays beginning August 5. The evening group will meet at 6-7:30PM on Thursdays, beginning August 6. Each of the groups, limited to 10 participants, will meet for 10 weeks, followed by a two-week recess and the next group session.
Safety protocols will be followed
Individuals who attend are asked to park in the North Parking Deck and enter the hospital at the Main/North Entrance. All group members will undergo a temperature check and health screening, receive a mask to be worn while in the hospital and be required to practice appropriate social distancing at all times. Group members are requested not to attend if they are experiencing any signs of illness.
In the small group setting, participants can choose to share or simply listen. Group members will have the opportunity to explore methods and resources for coping with loss and grief through group discussion and the sharing of ideas and resources.
Chaplains trained in grief recovery facilitate the programs. No religious affiliation is required.
