After seeking public input since early June on potential adult-use cannabis zoning ordinance components, the City of Naperville with City Council members will hold a City Council Workshop beginning at 7PM, today, Monday, June 22, using Zoom Webinar Technology.
City staff will use the existing medical cannabis regulations as a starting point for discussions related to the proposed adult-use cannabis regulations. The goal of the survey was to gauge public opinion, which will be shared with the City Council as they consider zoning requirements for adult-use cannabis facilities, parking requirements and to determine support for new cannabis business types, such as craft growers or on-site consumption.
Video provides history of Cannabis Regulation and Tax Act (CRTA) regarding adult-use recreational cannabis
City staff prepared a video presentation to help members of the public understand the City’s existing medical cannabis zoning regulations, the new types of facilities that do not have an equivalent category in the existing regulations, and how this information will help guide regulations for recreational adult-use cannabis dispensaries.
Members of the public were strongly encouraged to watch the video presentation before taking the survey that closed at 5PM on June 12. Comments received by the deadline will be included in the June 22 City Council workshop packet, and a summary of the responses also will be shared at the June 22 workshop.
