Several changes are being made to the delivery of City services in response to the COVID-19 outbreak and the statewide stay at home order that went into effect at 5PM March 21.
The City’s Recycling Drop-Off Center, Household Hazardous Waste, and Electronics Recycling facilities located at 156 Fort Hill Drive are closed until further notice.
The City’s contracted waste hauler has also implemented changes to garbage and recycling pick up. Specifically:
- All refuse must either be in a city-issued cart or bagged.
- Loose items outside of carts or cans will not be collected.
- If you use a garbage can, the content must be in a bag.
- If you use a city-issued cart, items may be loose.
- All recycling must be in a cart. Items left on the outside of the cart will not be collected.
- No bulk items, construction material or white goods (major appliances such as refrigerators, freezers, etc.) will be collected.
Yard waste collection will continue. As part of the City’s continued efforts to provide relief to residents and businesses during the community’s continued response to the COVID-19 outbreak, yard waste stickers will not be required on curbside bags or bundles through April 7.

Finally, the City of Naperville would like to inform the community that the Illinois Department of Public Health is encouraging all outpatient surgical and procedural centers, ambulatory surgery centers and veterinarians to donate their unused personal protective equipment (PPE) that is not immediately needed to assist health care providers, health care facilities and first responders who are on the front line and actively responding to COVID-19.
