City officials continue to identify and work through changes to non-essential City services in response to the statewide stay-at-home order and the CDC’s social distancing recommendations in response to the spread of COVID-19.
All City buildings will remain closed throughout the duration of the stay-at-home order, but critical operations, like emergency services and the management of our municipal water and electric utilities, will continue. City staff have posted an updated list of changes to non-essential city services at www.naperville.il.us/coronavirus-resources and will continue to update the list as needed. Residents are encouraged to check back regularly for updates.
A new executive order signed by Mayor Chirico on Monday, March 23, is also posted on the COVID-19 resources page. The order states that no citations will be written for overnight parking, time-limited parking and commuter parking lot violations until further notice in an effort to provide relief to residents, commuters and businesses during these unprecedented times.
Naperville Police will continue to enforce other stopping, standing or parking violations, including unauthorized use of parking places reserved for persons with disabilities, blocking private and public driveways and fire hydrants, fire lane violations and any other violations that may pose a danger to the public or restrict the ease of traffic movement.
