Original Post, Oct. 27, 2019 / Beginning in November, NaperLights by Rotary Sunrise will create a Winter Wonderland near the Webster Street Covered Bridge and along Water Street toward Main Street.  Youngsters here on Oct. 27, 2019, were headed to celebrate in downtown Naperville’s Halloween Hop. FYI: The American flag and pole by the bridge were funded by the Riverwalk Foundation with proceeds from the 2016 Riverwalk Duck Race. Thanks to all volunteers and businesses for making our event seasons bright!

It’s beginning to look a lot like, well, the beginning…

The NaperLights storage trailer and sponsor signs now positioned at Main and Water streets for Rotarians and volunteers to set up of the Rotary Club of Naperville-Sunrise annual holiday light display.

In its 7th year in Downtown Naperville, Naperville Sunrise Rotary’s NaperLights holiday display will make the season even brighter beginning Nov. 9, 2019, when it moves to a new location along Water Street overlooking, the south side of the Riverwalk, just opposite the Santa House that opens Thanksgiving weekend.  Visitors can access the display from the Webster Street covered bridge, Main Street and Webster Street.  Public parking will be available in the Water Street and Municipal Center parking decks.

The light display, a gift to the community from the Rotary Club of Naperville Sunrise, features a growing collection of giant lighted holiday figures including skating polar bears, penguins sliding on an igloo, skaters, snow men, carolers, gifts, baubles, and dancing trees.  The Imburgia Fountain will sing all season and up in the sky high above the Riverwalk, you might just spy Santa and his reindeer flying over downtown.

Join friends for caroling on Dec. 20

Animated lights and music will fill the area with carols synched to the lights, and the colorful arch on Foyo Plaza will be a popular photo spot. On Dec. 20, the community and passersby will be invited to caroling under the Great Tree, that will be located at the corner of Main and Water Streets.

NaperLights 2019 will be illuminated beginning the weekend of Nov. 9 through the holiday season. Free-will donations to support Naperville Sunrise Rotary local and international charitable projects are welcomed.

“Water Street is thrilled to be partnering with the Sunrise Rotary Club to continue this popular family tradition. We were the first sponsors of the event years ago, so to bring it home to Water Street, where visitors can enjoy it every night through the holidays is awesome,” says Nick Ryan, CEO of Marquette Companies. “We think families with relatives staying at Hotel Indigo will be delighted, and the spa,  shops and restaurants on Water Street are planning a wide array of holiday enticements to enjoy throughout the season.”

Marquette, Ryan Hill Group and Water Street Naperville are the lead sponsors for NaperLights.
