While it’s been a wet and rainy spring, like most of my fellow Midwesterners I’m going to remain optimistic that the months ahead will be filled with warm, sunny and dry days!
Regardless of what Mother Nature has in store for us in June, your local television station will be out and about covering many of the wonderful summer community events that make Naperville a great place to live as well as bringing viewers original programming.
Community builder, educator and friend are some of the words used to describe Mary Ann Bobosky, who took her love of educating children to new heights during her time at District 203. Find out more about this remarkable woman on “Naperville Notables.”
Viewers also can see Bobosky receive this year’s “Fair Lady Award” when Kandiss Hernandez and Fair Lady Productions, Inc. recognize her as a business woman who has made a difference in Naperville through her contribution and commitment to community arts organizations. NCTV17 will rebroadcast this event starting on June 4.
On Sat., June 13, NCTV17 will be broadcasting North Central College’s graduation ceremony live from the Residential/Recreation Center. Among those receiving their diplomas are NCTV17 interns Chris Picciuolo and Evan Summers.
On June 25, Ron Keller will celebrate 50 years as the conductor of the Naperville Municipal Band. The band will celebrate Keller’s “Golden Jubilee” during their June 25 summer concert and NCTV17 will be on-hand to share this performance with viewers starting at 7:30PM.
A tradition of summer is Naperville Little League Baseball. On Sat., June 27, NCTV17 will be covering the action of the annual City Championships for the Supreme, Majors, and 50/70 divisions. All three games will be rebroadcast on the channel.
Keeping with the sports theme, NCTV17 will continue to bring soccer fans the live game coverage of the Chicago Red Stars home games at Benedictine University. Their next home game is June 20 against the Washington Spirit.
At NCTV17, we look forward to being a part of your summer!
