This month I took my mom out for a breakfast. I choose Colonial Café located at 8 W. Gartner Road in Naperville Plaza. They are open 6:30AM -10PM Monday to Friday; 6:30AM-12 midnight on Saturday and 7AM-10PM on Sunday.
Colonial Café started in 1901 as a dairy milk route, growing into ice cream and dairy stores. Now Colonial Café has expanded through the years and today has seven full-service family restaurants.
For my breakfast I chose the “create your own” three-egg omelette with ham, sausage and green pepper, along with a toasted English muffin and golden toasted hash browns. The omelette was cooked to perfection! For the drink, I treated myself to a thick chocolate shake.
My mom had the Colonial’s Country Omelette—ham, onions, green peppers and melted cheddar jack cheese—brimming with hash browns inside and out.
We could have split her omelette—it was bigger than her plate.
Colonial has lots of breakfast, lunch and dinner specials.
Once in your life you have to order their “Kitchen Sink” and just try to finish it all. It is two whole bananas, two scoops of vanilla, two scoops of chocolate and two scoops of strawberry ice cream. Topped with chocolate, strawberry, and pineapple toppings, covered with whipped cream, chopped almonds and a cherry. Eat a Kitchen Sink Sundae and get a bumper sticker!
Please be sure to tell them Jack sent you! Happy dining until next time!
