Naperville Gardener – Fall Fever

-

Every fall I am overwhelmed by a sense of new opportunities that are waiting for me to embrace. As a child, every fall was the beginning of a new school year and the challenges of being a year older (and hopefully a little smarter) and better equipped to handle what life had in store for me.

That feeling consumes me every fall, even now. It’s a restless feeling that there’s something new to learn, someone new to meet and new places to go.

I have a trip to Sedona planned, a garden project at my son’s home in Mesa, Arizona, (gardening in the desert is full of learning opportunities for this gardener!) and getting back to garden club meetings that follow the school year.

The Naperville Garden Club invites you to join us at our Wed., Sept. 23, meeting. We have a new meeting place at North Central College’s Residence Hall/Recreation Center, 440 S. Brainard Street, 3rd floor Conference Room.

There is close, convenient parking. Registration and refreshments begin at 8:45AM. Next there’s the business meeting at 9:15AM, followed by this month’s program, “Wisdom and Stories from The Chicago Tomato Man.”

Speaker Bob Zeri is a certified master gardener who has built a successful business selling more than 10,000 tomatoes to the public, including rare and heirloom varieties. You’ll learn how to successfully grow your own tomatoes. Paid reservations ($20) are due Friday, September 18.

To make your reservation, contact Sandy at (630) 251-0577. We hope you will join us!
