During a visit to Waubonsie Valley High School when the newly renovated auditorium first opened in March, PN photographed the large mural redesigned in 2022 to accurately feature a portrait of Chief Waubonsie and scenes honoring the local Potawatomi Tribe. The video linked below features Dr. John Price and Principal Jason Stipp in late July 2026 preparing for school to begin again on Aug. 17.
Indian Prairie School District 204 Report

As part of the Safer, Stronger 204 initiative, Indian Prairie School District 204 launched $125 million in capital projects this summer. In addition to major renovations at Waubonsie Valley and Neuqua Valley High Schools, upgrades throughout the district include secure vestibules at 11 schools, new flooring at seven schools, playgrounds at five schools, solar panel installations at five schools, and districtwide LED lighting retrofits.
At Waubonsie Valley High School, work is underway on a fully renovated Technology Engineering Education suite, back-of-the-house auditorium updates, a new secure entry vestibule, and an upgraded stadium featuring a new turf field and concession stand. Cafeteria and atrium renovations are also in progress with a planned completion by winter break.
Recently, Dr. Price visited Waubonsie Valley High School to chat with Principal Jason Stipp about how these upgrades will elevate the student experience.
School District 204 schools begin again on Aug. 17.
Editor’s Note / Back in December 2025, School District 204 recommended Dr. John Price as superintendent of Indian Prairie School District 204. Dr. Price officially began on July 1, 2026. Click here for previous announcement.
