Beginning at 8AM Tues., July 28, 2026, petitions for candidacy for the 2027 Naperville municipal election are available in the Community Services Department at the Naperville Municipal Center, 400 S. Eagle Street. Petitions may begin being circulated for signature on Tues., July 28, 2026.
Up for election in 2027 are the four-year position of Mayor and the four-year terms of four City Council positions. To qualify as a candidate, you must be a registered voter of the City of Naperville and have resided within the City’s corporate limits for at least one year. Petitions for nomination are filed with the Community Services Department. The filing period will take place from 8AM to 5PM Mon., Oct. 19, 2026, through Mon., Oct. 26, 2026, excluding weekend days.
A Consolidated Primary Election will be held on Tues., Feb. 23, 2027, if there are more than 16 candidates for Council or four candidates for Mayor. The Consolidated Election will take place on Tuesday, April 6, 2027.
