The Naperville Noon Lions again will collect Styrofoam from 9AM to Noon on Sat., July 18. Hosted in collaboration with the City of Naperville and NEST (Naperville Environment and Sustainability Taskforce), the event will take place at the Route 59 Train Station located at 475 Fairway Dr. on the north side of tracks.
Styrofoam Accepted
Rigid Styrofoam (expanded polystyrene) packaging, containers, and packaging and shipping padding will all be accepted at the event. Also accepted will be CLEAN Styrofoam cups, clam shells, and meat trays. These items should be brought to the event in clear or colored plastic bags (to be recycled).
Styrofoam Not Accepted
Not accepted are packing peanuts, brown polyurethane foam, and blue building insulation. Also, don’t donate dirty food-contaminated containers.
All the Styrofoam collected will be recycled.

Lions also will be accepting eyeglasses, phones, running shoes, pop can tabs, key fobs, keys, brass, hearing aids, and ink jet printer cartridges, items club members accept year-round.
Next up…Aug. 1, 2026… Naperville Noon Lions also invites the community to join their efforts at Senator Curran’s Recycle Event from 9AM to Noon Sat., Aug. 1, 2026, at The Compass Church, Naperville Campus, 1551 Hobson Road.
“Bring your old eyeglasses, hearing aids/batteries, ink jet printer cartridges, pop tops, keys/key fobs, cell phones, brass and lace-up running shoes,” noted Program Chair, Lion Jim Woodring.
Save the date…Oct. 3, 2026… Save Styrofoam! The Naperville Noon Lions again will collect Styrofoam from 9AM to Noon on Sat., Oct. 3. That event also will take place at the Route 59 Train Station, 475 Fairway Dr.

During the Styrofoam collection event, the Lions Club also will accept eyeglasses, phones, running shoes, key fobs, keys, brass, hearing aids, and printer cartridges. Collecting these items supports the Lion’s primary mission of helping to provide vision, hearing and diabetes care for people who would not otherwise be able to afford it.
Don’t Forget to Buy Raffle Tickets!
The Noon Lions Club summer raffle tickets are for sale now. The winning tickets will be drawn on the Tuesday after Labor Day. The grand prize will be $5,000, second prize $2,000, third place $1,000 and fourth place $500.
Tickets also are available at napervillenoonlions.org. Tickets cost $10 for 1, $25 for 3, $50 for 7, and $100 for 15. Lions Club members have tickets to sell and members will be offering them in front of several local stores from now and throughout August.
