Engaging Aging – Golden Age Summit Encourages Seniors to Embrace Healthy

-

Older adults looking to improve their health, expand their knowledge and connect with others will have an opportunity to do all three at the upcoming Golden Age Summit on Sept. 18. Save the date!

Hosted by Naperville Seniors, a new nonprofit organization, the community-focused event will take place from 8AM to 12PM/Noon Fri., Sept. 18, at the NIU center.

The summit is designed to help seniors live healthier, more active and fulfilling lives. Attendees will have access to a variety of free health screenings, including diabetes, blood pressure, cholesterol, foot health and cognitive assessments.

Educational workshops will cover topics that are especially relevant to older adults, such as wellness, skincare and aging, travel opportunities, downsizing, caregiving support and healthy eating for brain health. Interactive sessions will also offer yoga demonstrations, medication awareness, and opportunities to learn about community resources available to older adults and their families.

Organizers say the event is more about more than health information. It is about changing perceptions of aging and encouraging older adults to see this stage of life as a time for growth and new opportunities.

“We want to redefine what it means to grow older,” the organizing team said. “The Golden Age Summit is about empowering individuals with the knowledge and resources they need to thrive.”

The event is open to seniors, family members, caregivers and anyone interested in healthy aging.

Naperville Seniors is a nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for older adults through education, community programs and access to essential resources.
