Live cannon blasts marked the annual Independence Day tribute concert performed by the Naperville Municipal Band in Central Park on July 2, 2026. The longstanding tradition, begun decades ago at the request of former Naperville Mayor Chester Rybicki, featured concertgoers celebrating America 250 as Civil War reenactors fired seven vintage cannons during the “1812 Overture.”
Folks who missed the Thursday evening concert in Central Park will have an opportunity to enjoy the Naperville Municipal Band’s Independence Day performance at 7:30PM Sat., July 4, in the Wagner Pavilion behind the 95th Street Library. For the third year, the concert is set begin before the fireworks display at dusk in Frontier Park. Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
