Planning Father’s Day weekend in Naperville? And next week, remind friends and neighbors that the annual one-hour Kids Concert returns at 7PM Thurs., June 25. (The Kids Concert was rained out last week.) Arrive between 5:45PM and 6:30PM to experience the Instrument Petting Zoo hosted by Ellman’s Music Center, a fun time to hold the types of musical instruments in the band! Plan a picnic, too.

Note! It’s Juneteenth. Banks are closed Fri., June 19, for Juneteenth because since 2021, that date has been an official federal holiday and a recognized bank holiday by the Federal Reserve. Also, U.S. Post Office locations are closed, and residential and business mail deliveries are paused until Saturday.
According to Britannica, since 1866, Juneteenth has been a holiday commemorating the end of slavery in the U.S., a story of “freedom, liberation and joy” that happened two years after the Emancipation Proclamation.
