Special Citywide Brush Collection will address tree, brush debris from severe weather events on June 10, 2026. Thanks for patience from residents and for all efforts to date from DPW crews to clear large branches and other debris.
Due to the severe weather that occurred in Naperville earlier this week, the city is conducting a special free citywide bulk brush collection beginning the week of June 15, 2026.
To participate, place any brush and tree debris on the parkway in front of your home by the morning of Mon., June 15. Because Public Works and contractor crews will be working quickly to make one pass through the entire city, to ensure your brush is collected, you must have it out by the morning of June 15.
Brush does not need to be stickered, cut, bagged or tied.
The special collection is expected to conclude by the end of the day on Sat., June 27. After that time, any remaining brush on private property must be disposed of through the City’s weekly yard waste program or through a privately contracted tree removal company.
Editor’s Note / Heads up! Sometime soon will be a good time to inspect from a distance all the trees in your yard and/or along the parkway to be assured branches are not split or cracked.
According to the Illinois Department of Natural Resources, it’s a good idea to scan the canopy for broken or “hanging” branches (widowmakers) and check the trunk for deep vertical cracks.
This week’s storms may not have broken all branches enough to fall. Residents could be well served by an arborist. Sudden winds may create hazardous conditions. Stay safe.
