Visit Naperville – Preview to Summer Events

-

Naperville really comes alive in the summer, and this year is no exception. There’s something going on just about every weekend, making it easy to get out and enjoy everything the community has to offer.

Things kick off in early June with Kite Fly 2026 at Frontier Park on June 7. It’s one of those easy, feel-good events with colorful kites filling the sky, kids running around and music playing. Best of all, it’s free and perfect for families.

Starting the first week of June through September, the streets of downtown Naperville will be lined with beautiful, imaginative painted dog sculptures. These works of art are provided by many sponsoring businesses and artists. Before or after one of these summer events, grab a coffee or ice cream and take a stroll to enjoy the show these dogs will be putting on.

Naper Nights at Naperville Settlement will be rocking this summer with an amazing line up featuring songs by Taylor Swift, Ozzy Osbourne, Van Halen, The Doobie Brothers Toby Keith and more! Local restaurants, historic buildings and a children’s area make this Naper Nights concert series a “must do” on the summer bucket lists.

Wake up and enjoy Naperville’s 5th Avenue Farmers Market. Live music and a friendly morning atmosphere await as you browse fresh produce and shop local vendors’ creations.

Father’s Day weekend features a longtime favorite, the Downtown Naperville Classic Car Show along the Naperville Riverwalk. It’s a relaxing way to spend a few hours, strolling and checking out vintage cars on the morning of June 20.

As the summer continues, Naperville’s arts scene is in full swing. The Naperville Woman’s Club Fine Art and Artisan Fair showcase local talent in June, and starting in July, BrightSide Theatre partners with the Naperville Park District for “Summer in the Parks.” These one hour performances pop up in parks across the city, making it the perfect summer night activity.

Events like these don’t just bring people together, they also support local restaurants, shops and small businesses that help keep Naperville thriving.

And of course, summer wraps up in September with the Naperville Jaycees Last Fling, a lively end-of-season celebration filled with music, food and fun for all ages.

All in all, it’s a strong lineup this summer. Whether you’re into food, music, art or just getting out of the house, there’s plenty to enjoy right here in Naperville.
