In late November, Lynn Lowder, Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of the Veteran Business Project, invited family and friends to celebrate the ribbon cutting for the new Veteran Business Project National Headquarters located at 2020 Calamos Court, Suite 120, within the Calamos Investments building.
The new National Headquarters will be a central home for their mission and a hub for national impact.
Veteran Business Project, led by Lowder along with President and Co-Founder Dale Eisenberg, works to help Veterans find purpose, ownership, and hope through business, aiming to save lives.
“We want to sincerely thank Calamos Real Estate for their support,” said Lowder. “Their belief in veterans and in this mission helped bring this new location to life. We would love to see our VBP family, our Veteran community, their families, and our Naperville neighbors join us.”
“Great time at the Naperville Chamber ribbon cutting for a Veteran-owned business,” said Lena Smolen after the event. “As a Chamber Ambassador, it was meaningful to support a Veteran-led company and meet so many local Veterans. Their encouraging words to my son—who is preparing to join the U.S. Coast Guard—meant a lot. Proud of this community.”

Editor’s Note / Lynn Lowder and Dale Eisenberg also are owners of Rosie’s Home Cookin’, a popular diner that temporarily closed in November with plans to move to CityGate Centre. Good news is Rosie’s will be reopening in late January 2026 at 2155 City Gate Lane, just off Ferry Road, in Naperville.

Meanwhile, get to know a little more about Marine Veteran Lynn Lowder. “Grace Under Fire” was posted on YouTube, Nov. 10, 2025, by Freedom Sings U.S.A.
“‘Grace Under Fire’ is the true story of Lt. Charles Lynn Lowder and his miraculous escape from deep behind the enemy lines during the Vietnam War.”
Rosie’s Home Cookin’ will be open again soon!

Vintage Saturday Evening Post art prints featuring Norman Rockwell’s image of “Rosie the Riveter” grace the walls of the spacious new diner located in CityGate Centre. And the Fallen Comrade Table again is set with an empty chair, white tablecloth, single red rose, slice of lemon, empty glass and pinch of salt to remember with honor individuals who made the ultimate sacrifice or remain missing.
The new Rosie’s will appear much like the old Rosie’s, only with more space and movable tables to accommodate larger parties. Some additions to the breakfast and lunch menu are planned, too.
Meanwhile, Lowder is eager for last-minute details to be completed so the doors to Rosie’s can open at the new location and return to its mission as a Veteran-owned-and-operated business.
All proceeds from Rosie’s Home Cookin’ benefit the Veteran Business Project, a nonprofit organization. And Lowder is eager to begin serving breakfast and lunch again to help give Veterans hope.
