Naper Settlement is open 10AM-4PM Tuesday-Saturday and 1-4PM Sunday with general museum admission $12 for adults (13+), $10 for seniors (62+), and $8 for youth (4-12). Naperville residents with proof of residency, children under 4, and members receive complimentary admission.
Oktoberfest

Traditional German cuisine and beer will be overflowing in a giant heated tent at Naper Settlement’s annual Oktoberfest. Enjoy one of the largest Oktoberfest beer varieties in the area and German cuisine from local restaurants and food trucks. New this year, come snap a photo next to the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile on Friday. Listen to an exciting music lineup featuring Oompah and polka rock music on Friday, as well as a mix of polka, country, and the ultimate 90s party band Fool House, on Saturday. On Saturday, head on over to the children’s area for activities for the entire family or test your strength in the stein holding contest.
Family STEM Night: Creepy Crawlies
6-7PM Thurs., Oct. 9 • $8/person
Creep into the world of spooky science with Family STEM Night: Creepy Crawlies! Explore the fascinating world of insects, arachnids, and other critters through hands-on activities and eerie experiments. Perfect for Halloween fun and curious minds of all ages! This program is recommended for families with children 12 and under. Pre-registration is required.
History Unplugged: Prepare for the 250 (Middle School)
10AM-noon Sat., Oct. 11 • $10/teacher
Join Naper Settlement for an interactive workshop that empowers educators to prepare for the 250th anniversary of the United States! Engage in hands-on activities that explore key historical themes and collaborate to develop creative lesson plans that bring the themes of America’s 250 to life. Leave inspired by innovative strategies to create impactful learning experiences for your students as we celebrate and reflect on this historic milestone. Pre-registration is required. This program is for middle school teachers.
All Hallows Eve
5:30-9PM Fri., Oct. 17 and Sat., Oct. 18 • $25/person
Magic, monsters, and mythical entertainment will be summoned on the grounds of Naper Settlement during this annual fall festival for families with children 16 and under! Come as you are or wear a costume (no masks or weapons) and overcome your fears with a line-up of Halloween-themed outdoor activities, art, and performances. New attractions include a zombie hotel funhouse, a headless horseman, and Kazamir the Hungry (sideshow performer). Returning attractions include a zombie maze, dark art gallery, Screams from the Unknown Outdoor Haunt, alien autopsy, a costume contest, and more.
Craft by Beer: Mad Scientists
7-9PM Thur., Oct. 23 • $20/adult (21+)
Get ready to unleash your inner mad scientist in this electrifying night of hands-on experiments and craft beer! In this interactive event, you’ll dive into mind-blowing science challenges, testing wild theories and brewing up fun. From creating chemical reactions to building explosive concoctions, it’s the perfect blend of trivia and thrilling science. This program is for adults only – you must be at least 21 years of age to participate. A valid ID is required at event entry. Pre-registration is required.
Howlin’ at the Moon

Howlin’ at the Moon is the ultimate Halloween bash for adults (21+). Howl along to live music with a one-of-a-kind outdoor concert experience, enjoy thrilling sideshow performances, and participate in Halloween-themed activities including a costume contest, spine-chilling art displays and photo experiences, and more! Howlin’ at the Moon is for adults twenty-one years of age and older only. No one under the age of twenty-one is permitted. IDs will be checked at the entrance.
Trick or Treat at Naper Settlement
noon-4PM Sun., Oct. 26 • $6/person, free for children under 4
Put on your best costumes and come trick or treat at Naper Settlement’s historical homes for your Halloween treats (while candy supplies last), watch the blacksmith at his forge, and more. Children under 18 must attend with an adult. Adults must be accompanying a child.
