Calling all actors! Audition for Magical Starlight Theatre’s ‘Shrek’ September 27-28

Above / Adult and child actors are invited to audition at the Alfred Rubin Riverwalk Community Center, Sept. 27 and Sept. 28, for the January 2026 production of “Shrek” to be staged at the Naperville Central High School Auditorium.

Magical Starlight Theatre, a Naperville Park District program, is holding auditions for its January 2026 production of “Shrek” on Sat., Sept. 27, and Sun., Sept. 28. Youth actors currently in the fourth grade or higher, as well as adult actors are welcome to audition for lead roles, supporting roles or the ensemble. All actors must prepare a vocal piece from the show, and a monologue from the script. Additionally, auditionees will have to do a dance audition and should be prepared to move after their vocal and script readings.

Audition times for all ages are from 1PM to 7PM on Saturday and 1PM to 5PM on Sunday at the Alfred Rubin Riverwalk Community Center, located at 305 W. Jackson Avenue. Prospective cast members need to attend only one of the audition dates. Actors can sign up for an audition time slot at www.magicalstarlight.org/auditions. Walk-ups are also welcomed and will be placed in the next available audition slot. Each audition will take approximately 80 minutes.

Magical Starlight Theatre’s mission is to create quality family-oriented theatrical productions; to develop a creative, supportive environment for artists; and to expand their community connection through the arts. “Shrek” performances will be January 9-11 and 16-18, 2026, in the Naperville Central High School auditorium.
