Since March, the Eagle Street Gateway at Jackson Avenue has been a work in progress along the Riverwalk. Compare the water level of the DuPage River in the above photo from Aug. 19 to the one below from Aug. 16.

Sat., Aug. 16, the day was sunning and bright to check on progress from the Eagle Street Bridge. Note the height of the DuPage River across the way. (PN Photo)

A stormy Monday evening brought rushing high waters to the banks of the DuPage River on Tuesday where construction workers were busy at the Eagle Street Gateway.

Except for one photo, pictures were taken from the Eagle Street Bridge early Aug. 19, 2025. Note one photo looking east toward the Riverwalk Covered Bridge shows the low-flow walkway impassable with two benches up to their seats in water.
