The Naperville Senior Task Force is looking for the next Senior of the Year, Male and Female!
Originating in 2018, the “Senior of the Year” award is a powerful way to honor the wisdom, contributions, and lifelong service of older adults in Naperville. It recognizes a male and female who continue to make a positive impact through volunteer work, mentorship, advocacy, or simply by being active and engaged members of society.
Too often, the efforts of senior citizens go unnoticed. This award shines a light on their achievements and reminds us of the value they bring to every generation. It celebrates not just past accomplishments, but ongoing dedication to community and family.
We encourage everyone to nominate a deserving senior —someone whose kindness, leadership, or quiet service has made a difference in your life or the community.
Candidates must be 60 years of age or older. Nomination forms can be found at naperville.il.us/seniortaskforce. Download the form and email it to nominatasenior@gmail.com, or simply scan the QR code on the website to complete a nomination. Feel free to add anything that will enhance the nominee’s information such as photos, articles, etc. Deadline for applications August 31, 2025.
The winners will receive the award and personal recognition by Mayor Scott Wehrli at the City Council meeting on October 7.
Honoring a “Senior of the Year” promotes respect for aging and helps combat ageism by showing that growing older often means becoming more involved, not less.
Carpe Diem!
