2025 National Night Out at May Watts Elementary School
Neighbors from West Wind, Countryside and Buttonwood subdivisions gathered at May Watts Elementary School for America’s Night Out Against Crime and a chance for youngsters to meet Naperville elected officials, Naperville Police officers, members of the Naperville Fire Department as well as emergency vehicles up close.
Learning about the interior of an EMS vehicle and its safety features, talking with first responders from the NFD and NDP as well as sitting shotgun in a firetruck gave families, all ages, a chance to meet men and women who serve to help keep the community safe. Chalk drawing, playing with beachballs and always-popular face painting were among other attractive activities at one of 39 locations for Naperville’s National Night Out.
National Night Out is held annually throughout the nation on the first Tuesday in August.
(Note also that 10AM on the first Tuesday of every month outdoor sirens are tested in Naperville.)
Next Up! Save the date for the annual Public Safety Open House from 11AM to 2PM Sat., Sept. 27, at the Naperville Public Safety Campus, 1380 Aurora Avenue.
