City of Naperville Report

On July 10, 2025, at approximately 5:43PM, Naperville Police were dispatched to Centennial Beach, located at 500 Jackson Avenue, for a report of a missing person who was last seen in the deep end of the pool.  At approximately 6:06PM, lifeguards recovered an unresponsive 27-year-old male from the water. The Naperville Fire Department transported the individual to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

The initial investigation indicates that the victim had entered the water with a group of friends with the intent to swim to a floating dock in the middle of the deep end. Upon arriving at the dock, the group noticed the victim was no longer with them. After searching the immediate area, they returned to shore to continue their search. Lifeguards were eventually notified and activated their missing person protocols.

There is no indication of foul play at this time. The official cause of death remains under investigation by the Naperville Police Department and the DuPage County Coroner’s Office.

Individuals with any information regarding this case are asked to contact the Naperville Police Department Investigations Division at (630) 548-1421.

Report submitted by Public Information Office for the Naperville Police Department.

Editor’s Note / Out of respect for the individual’s family and pending further investigation, the Naperville Park District issued a news release saying it will not be providing any further comment. The Park District offers its sincere condolences to the family of the deceased.
