Though the heat, humidity and rumble of thunder were no joke just before the big stage door went go up, up, up on the Community Concert Center, an appreciative audience had arrived ready for laughs.
And the Naperville Municipal Band continued its Thursday night summer concert series in Central Park, chock full of jokes and amusements. The cleverly-rehearsed Comedy Tonight theme featured tunes from classic sitcoms, silly cartoons, movies and lots more fun for all.
Next Thursday, July 3, the NMB will present “Let Freedom Ring,” its annual Independence Day celebration, complete with the accompaniment of real live cannons during the 1812 Overture and Stars and Stripes Forever. The memorable concert always is a blast!
Naperville Municipal Band Concerts are set for every Thursday beginning at 7:30PM through Aug. 14. For more information about the band that’s been around in 1859, visit www.napervilleband.org.
