The Western DuPage Special Recreation Association (WDSRA) is pleased to welcome Mike Boyle as a new trustee on the WDSRA Foundation Board. As a Trustee, Mike will be joining the 14-member board in promoting the mission of the WDSRA Foundation and thereby serving WDSRA participants & families throughout DuPage County.
With a career spanning media, consulting, and technology, Mike brings a wealth of strategic expertise and a deep personal commitment to the special needs community.
Mike holds a Bachelor’s degree in Radio and Television from the University of Illinois at Chicago and an MBA from Northwestern University. The first half of his career was rooted in the television industry, including launching commercial stations in Europe and founding a media agency. He spent nearly a decade as a management consultant for Comcast before transitioning to high tech, where he concluded his professional journey with IBM.
Mike and his wife Penny have been long-time advocates in the special needs space, inspired by their daughter Sophie, who has participated in WDSRA programs for the past 20 years. Penny formerly served as President of the Special Needs PTA in District 204, reflecting their family’s dedication to creating inclusive opportunities for individuals with disabilities.
“Joining the WDSRA Board is both a personal and reciprocal commitment,” said Mike. “This community has given so much to our daughter, and I’m eager to give back. My goal is to contribute my skills to help WDSRA fulfill its mission and lay a strong foundation for future success.”
In addition to his new board role, Mike is currently coaching WDSRA golf athletes, combining his love of competitive golf with his passion for mentorship.
