It’s a Grand Old Flag every day with special observance on June 14 / Flag Day recognizes the day that the Continental Congress chose the official design for American flag on June 14, 1777. In 1916, President Woodrow Wilson issued a proclamation for Flag Day. Then in 1949, President Harry Truman signed a formal observance of the holiday into law. Flag Day is not a Federal holiday. Mail is delivered on Flag Day.

Downtown Naperville Vintage Car Show / 9AM – 11AM in Downtown Naperville (along Jackson Avenue) / Kick off Father’s Day Weekend in Downtown Naperville with a FREE Car Show along Jackson Avenue from 9AM-11AM. Enjoy the looks of up to 100 vehicles in all makes and models! Cars will be on display on Jackson Avenue, along the Riverwalk, between Eagle and Main Streets. This event is weather permitting.

Naperville Riverwalk Pickers / 9:30AM / The Naperville Riverwalk Pickers will strum their hum-along music, sometimes with accompaniment of a harmonica, from 9:30AM to 11AM Saturdays, weather permitting, in the Free Speech Pavilion located near the Civic Plaza with the Dandelion Fountain, Jackson at Webster streets in downtown Naperville. All pickers are welcome to join the group and make music! Listening is free!

Knox Presbyterian Garden Walk / 9:30AM / Garden Walk will run from 9:30AM-3:30PM featuring six Naperville area gardens. Day-of tickets may be purchased at the drive-thru for $20 (cash or check) at Knox Church, 1105 Catalpa. For more info, call the church at (630) 355-8181. Hosted by Presbyterian Women of Knox Church to benefit Northern Illinois Food Bank, Geneva, IL, which serves 13 counties by providing 250,000 meals a day.

Juneteenth Celebration / Noon to 3PM at Rotary Hill – 443 Aurora Ave, Naperville, IL 60540 / Naperville Neighbors United (NNU) invites you to celebrate Juneteenth at this free, family-friendly event on Rotary Hill in downtown Naperville. Free registration is suggested at napervilleneighborsunited.org. The event will feature music, food trucks and exhibitor tents. Join NNU to celebrate and build community. Grab your chair or blanket and join the festivities.

Summer Painted Sculptures – DUCKS! / Splash into Summer in Downtown Naperville! The annual popular tradition is back for Summer, 2025. Come find and enjoy the artistry of 18 Painted Duck Sculptures that are on display all summer long in Downtown Naperville. downtownnaperville.com. What’s more there’s a scavenger hunt featuring theme- decorated jumbo rubber ducks hidden inside many downtown shops. Visit Treasures, a toy and game shop at 121 S. Washington Street, as a great first stop to learn more about the scavenger hunt.

When time permits while visiting downtown Naperville to shop and dine, the Riverwalk welcomes folks to the city’s natural treasure where can-do spirit is on display from the Jefferson Avenue Bridge to the Hillside Road Bridge, all along the path of serpentine-shaped bricks. 

Help keep individuals safe as they walk the Riverwalk and throughout downtown Naperville.
