After nearly 34 years, Bill Novack will step down from his role as Naperville’s Director of Transportation, Engineering, and Development (TED). His retirement marks the end of an engineering career and service to the Naperville community.
In the beginning, Novack served as a senior civil engineer where his responsibilities involved reviewing subdivision plans with all those cul-de-sacs and working on the capital improvement programs, one step at a time.
Among those engineering steps were bridge inspections and building new bridges such as the Eagle Street Bridge, Main Street Bridge and the Washington Street Bridge.
On a personal note, Novack always appeared to be a good listener regarding public safety, care and maintenance of the City’s pride and joy. He also acknowledged recent concerns about aging sidewalks. And we’re forever grateful.
Andy Hynes will assume Novack’s positions on TED as an engineer as well as the City’s representative on the Naperville Riverwalk Commission.
The Transportation, Engineering and Development (TED) Department now will be led by Jennifer Louden, Director.
