Happy May Day!
It’ll be just ducky all summer when the latest painted sculptures arrive to celebrate “Splashing into Summer” in Downtown Naperville next month. The annual popular tradition returns in early June with the colorful artistry and whimsy of 18 painted “Duck Sculptures” that will be on display to dot the landscape above water all summer long throughout downtown Naperville.
A map with locations will be available in May, providing an online guide at downtownnaperville.com to find them once they are completed and installed on Mon., June 2.
In addition to the painted Duck Sculptures, additional fun events will include hidden rubber ducks inside various downtown businesses as well as a Rubber Duck Race in the DuPage River, with proceeds benefiting the Riverwalk Foundation. The date for the Rubber Duck race is Fri., June 6, 2025, river height permitting. Experienced at the net, the good folks at the Naperville Park District who never duck sharing their expert experiences say the race will take less than 10 minutes. Park District staff will “catch” the prize-winning rubber duckies as they cross under the Riverwalk Moser Covered Bridge at Webster Street.
