Wheaton – Please see the below statement attributable to Chief Judge Bonnie Wheaton, Circuit Court Clerk Candice Adams, and Sheriff Jim Mendrick:
“This afternoon, DuPage County confirmed it had been the target of a ransomware attack. The attack impacted the Sheriff’s Office, 18th Judicial Circuit Court, and the Circuit Court Clerk’s Office.
“Systems have been taken offline and the County is working to determine the full extent of the attack. The Sheriff’s Office has indicated there is no impact to the jail. In-person court hearings will proceed tomorrow morning.
“Because this is an open investigation, the County will have no further comment at this time.”

Wheaton – Below is a statement attributable to DuPage County Chief Judge Bonnie Wheaton, DuPage County Circuit Court Clerk Candace Adams, and DuPage County Sheriff Jim Mendrick:
“The County was made aware of a cyber incident occurring around 2:30AM that is impacting the Sheriff’s Office, the 18th Judicial Circuit Court, and the Circuit Court Clerk’s Office.
“There is currently an outage in the Sheriff’s Office and the County Courthouse. All other County operations have not been impacted. In-person court operations have been minimally impacted and are expected to continue as scheduled. This outage does not have any impact on jail operations or on public safety.
“Chancery sales in the Sheriff’s Office will be canceled this week.
“The County has contacted the FBI and Secret Service and this matter is still under investigation and we will provide more information as it becomes available.”
