It’s National Library Week! Did you know energetic Benjamin Franklin founded the first private lending library in Philadelphia in 1871? Then in 1833 the first free public library was established in Peterborough, New Hampshire. And did you know that Carnegie Hall now used for computer science at North Central College originally was donated to house a library by philanthropist Andrew Carnegie? (PN Photo, 4-8-25)
During National Library Week, April 6-12, this publication posted a photo featuring “Carnegie Hall” located at 10 N. Brainard Street in Naperville, a building that used to be the Carnegie Library at North Central College.

And now today, April 18, 2025, Positively Naperville received a press release from Steinway & Sons in New York about a recent performance to introduce its three new “stunning pianos” unveiled at a concert on stage at Carnegie Hall in New York City.

Amazing how algorhythms work to connect and try to solve how to get the news to the public! Or was it serendipity?

How else would Steinway have connected with independently-owned and locally-focused Positively Naperville right here in Illinois? Our world just keeps getting smaller.

On another note, after Jennifer Berosek, Associate Director of Fine Arts at North Central College read this post, she said the piano in the Wentz Concert Hall at the North Central College Fine and Performing Arts Center is a Steinway, Model D!
