Our Naperville dental staff just returned from the 2025 Chicago Dental Society Midwinter Dental Meeting at McCormick Place in Chicago.
This meeting is one of the premier and highest attended Dental meetings in the world, with more than 20,000 attendees.
It’s one of the best places to learn about new techniques, materials, and equipment in the dental field, and every year we return with information that will drastically improve our practice.
Our big accomplishment last year was upgrading our practice management software to a cloud version. It has taken us almost this long to complete the data conversion and become comfortable with the new software, but even our patients have noticed the improvements we have implemented with that change.
Information that we learned this year will improve our services to our patients. We are thrilled to share that at this year’s Midwinter Meeting, we purchased equipment and software that will allow us to prepare final crowns and bridges in our office while our patients wait. No more temporaries, and no more Dental Lab delays!
I will discuss those advancements in more detail in another column after we have progressed a little further on implementation.
I also want to mention that I am very proud of my staff for taking the initiative to attend and become more familiar with all of the innovations taking place in the dental field.
At so many dental offices, the staff view their work as “just another job.” I know my staff takes an interest in what we can do to better support our patients. Not only does that make my job much easier when it comes to being a champion for my patients, but it also reaffirms how valuable each member of the team is to our dental practice and patient experience.
