Exciting year ahead at Colbert Custom Framing & Art Printing
In January, the 38-year old, 3rd-generation company, owned by Stephanie Colbert Randall, expanded its high resolution scanning technology with the addition of a Contex IQ Flex flatbed scanner, which scans up to size 18″ x 24″ in seconds and up to 24″ x 36″ in minutes. This particular scanner makes it easier to scan thicker items, like books and stretched canvases, not to mention increased scanning speed. We typically scan at 600 dpi. Higher resolution scans available upon request.
The company still loves its Epson Expression 10000 XL, which has a 12” x 17” scanner bed and can scan anything, including slides and negatives. We typically scan standard items at 600 DPI and slides / negatives at 1200 DPI. Higher resolution scans available upon request.
Items larger than the scanner bed are scanned in sections, then we expertly merge the scans in our image editing software.

Colbert Custom Framing & Art Printing has a large on-site warehouse stocked with thousands of feet of wood/metal mouldings and hundreds of sheets of designer acid-free matboards and offers other sale options when the materials are in-stock.
The 5,000 sq. ft. facility is located in Market Meadows Plaza on the NW corner of 75th St. and Naper Blvd. Store hours are 10AM-6PM Mon. to Fri. and 9AM to 5PM Sat. Artist and Photography groups are also welcome to use the facility for a meeting venue, by appointment.
