Enjoy Every Day at Quigley’s Irish Pub / Quigley’s Irish Pub is located at 43 E. Jefferson Ave. in downtown Naperville / Quigley’s Irish Pub features live music Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Reminder! Kreger’s Brat and Sausage House has gone fishing! More specifically, the city’s best sausage makers are closed, taking their annual extended winter break to do some “fishing, sunning and healing of the body and mind.” Watch for doors to open again on Fri., April 18, just in time for Easter and polish sausage!

Remember George Washington’s Birthday! / Born Feb. 22, 1732 / Inspired by a report in the Wall Street Journal on Feb. 17, 2023, suggesting that “kids lose something when schools aren’t named after Lincoln and Washington,” PN notes Naperville Community Unit School District 203 has honored both George Washington and Abe Lincoln (Born Feb. 12, 1809) by naming junior high schools after the two historic Presidents. What’s more, three other junior highs in the district are named to recognize Presidents Thomas Jefferson, James Madison and John F. Kennedy. (Kennedy Jr. High School is located in Lisle.)

One more thing about how Naperville loves its parades… The West Suburban Irish announced that it’s now taking registration for the Annual St. Patrick’s Parade set to step off at 10AM Sat., March 15, 2025, in downtown. Registration is now in progress

Downtown Naperville features plenty of other things to do all month to have a hot time in the cold old town where winter sale signs are prominent in store windows in between restaurants. Also if time permits while visiting downtown Naperville to shop and dine, the Riverwalk welcomes folks to the city’s natural treasure where can-do spirit is on display from the Jefferson Avenue Bridge to the Hillside Road Bridge, all along the path of serpentine-shaped bricks.

Then… Visit local shopping destinations N.E.W.S. and all along Ogden Avenue as it winds through town, showcasing car dealerships and other service centers, here and there.

Looking forward to next weekend… Plan ahead to attend an old-fashioned spaghetti dinner from 5-7PM Fri., Feb. 28, at the VFW Post. The all-you-can-eat dinner is hosted by the NCHS Veterans Club and the American Legion Post 43. Proceeds will benefit local veterans.

(Then remember that for six more Fridays, the VFW Fish Fry returns from 4:30PM to 7:30PM, also at the VFW Post, 908 W. Jackson.)

And Music Is for Life!

The Naperville Municipal Band will present “Music Is for Life” as its annual Winter Concert at 3PM Sun., March 2, on stage in Wentz Concert Hall. The Naperville Municipal Band will be joined by the Naperville Central High School Wind Ensemble for a special concert featuring two professional musicians from Naperville: Dr. Joseph Bello, Euphonium; and Jennifer Marotta, Trumpet.
