Reminder! Kreger’s Brat and Sausage House has gone fishing! More specifically, the city’s best sausage makers are closed, taking their annual extended winter break to do some “fishing, sunning and healing of the body and mind.” Watch for doors to open again on Fri., April 18, just in time for Easter and polish sausage! 

North Central College presents “The 39 Steps” / 7:30PM at Madden Theatre – 171 E. Chicago Ave., Naperville, IL 60540 / Mix a Hitchcock masterpiece with a juicy spy novel and add a dash of Monty Python, and you have a fast-paced whodunit for anyone who loves the magic of theatre. This two-time Tony and Drama Desk Award-winning treat is packed with nonstop laughs, over 150 zany characters and some good old-fashioned romance. Ray Chinese School’s Spring Festival Gala / 2:45PM / Get a taste of Chinese culture and celebrate the Year of the Snake at Kennedy Junior High School, 2929 Green Trails Drive in Lisle. From 2:45PM to 4:15PM, families can walk the Temple Fair for a sample of hands-on Chinese tradition, and from 4:30PM to 6PM, you can enjoy the Gala’s rich cultural performance showcase.

DuPage Symphony Orchestra – “Beyond Beautiful” / 3PM at Wentz Concert Hall – 171 E. Chicago Ave., Naperville, IL 60540 / Acclaimed violist and well-known string teacher in the western suburbs, Rose Armbrust Griffin, is the featured soloist in the DSO’s February concert, performing the rarely-heard but gloriously tuneful Viola Concerto by Cecil Forsyth. The concert is framed by two compelling masterworks: Johannes Brahms’ Tragic Overture, imbued with powerful melancholy, and Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 6 in B minor, commonly known as Pathétique but more aptly designated as the “Passionate.” This exquisitely poignant symphony was Tchaikovsky’s final work in the genre, premiered just nine days before his death. $10-43 / Tickets at northcentral.vbotickets.com.

Celebrate Presidents Day! / Downtown Naperville abounds with many eateries, some old, some new!

Whether President’s Day or not, the heart of the Riverwalk provides a warm welcome every day at the corner of Jackson Avenue and Eagle Street, marking the spot of Landforms, a sculpture donated by the Naperville Art League to the community in 1984. Every visit to the Riverwalk is a chance to discover historic markers that help showcase a small sample of the community’s contributions to the city’s rich heritage, dating back to the city’s rural roots.  And, of course, downtown Naperville abounds with dozens of good eateries. And throughout the city, more than 350 restaurants are set to whet your appetite!

One more thing about how Naperville loves its parades… The West Suburban Irish announced that it’s now taking registration for the Annual St. Patrick’s Parade set to step off at 10AM Sat., March 15, 2025, in downtown. Registration is now in progress
